In September, Kenya’s Immigration department introduced e-passports to replacing the ordinary ones which will be phased out completely by 2019. The move was long overdue as a number of countries across the world have already transitioned. This was an implementation of the East Africa Community (EAC) resolution that will see all the five countries in the economic bloc have an e-passport.
